Serial no 62434 was likely first shipped to Arizona in the early 80's. It was eventually traded for a Pick-up truck with the owner's brother in Pennsylvania. The new owner gave it a fresh coat of house paint (With a roller) and tried to do some repairs, which resulted in many more broken parts before the car was no longer running and put up for sale in 2008. After bringing it home, the body was removed, stripped and repainted. many parts were replaced with the invaluable help of Dave Hemsley and the bug became roadworthy again in 2009. Since then, It gets driven on a somewhat regular basis but spent 4 months on loan at the Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio. The doors are not installed in order to keep the cabin bearable during the very hot summers here
